Property tax bills are typically mailed in August and due in October. The 2023 property tax bills were due Oct. 15.

If your payment is late, the following interest and penalty is added to the balance owed:

- 0.96% interest is added each month that a balance remains. The first accrual date is the first date the balance is past due. Each accrual thereafter occurs on the second of each month.

- A 5% penalty is added on the remaining balance after 120 days, then an additional 5% on the remaining balance after every 120 days, not to exceed 20%.

Important Note! We do not send tax bills to mortgage companies.  If your property taxes are in an escrow account, your property tax information is made available to your mortgage company; however, it is ultimately the property owner's responsibility to ensure taxes are paid.  If you have questions about whether your mortgage company will be paying your taxes, contact them directly, especially if your mortgage company has recently changed.

Other important dates:

  • Homestead exemption application deadline: April 1
  • Mobile home taxes due date: April 1
